Increase Patient Safety

The core of all efforts in the profession of clinical simulation is the fact that education through clinical simulation practices saves human lives.

Promote Technological Advances in Clinical Simulation
The improvement of patient simulator technology will help us to increase the potential to “suspend disbelief” for those being trained using this technology. It will also increase the ability to interact with the simulated patient, further increasing the qualitative exchange between trainees and the simulated patient subjects.

Encourage Interprofessional & Interdisciplinary Teamwork
Many clinical teams come together for the first time in front of the patient. Because clinical professionals work as a team it is critical that they learn to work together as a team. This will translate into better patient care and more harmony in the clinical environment.

Campaign for Transparency & Trust in Simulation
It is critical for trust to pervade the entire simulation profession. Patients trust their lives in the hands of caregivers and we must offer the most transparent and trustworthy service in order to build on the positive image of simulation as a viable and important clinical training tool.

Advocate the Profession of Simulation Worldwide
Clinical simulation is a relatively new way of education clinicians to care for patients. It is also a new way of achieving CME credit. In order for simulation training to survive, we must be diligent in promoting its benefits to all.

Follow Through
Always maintain “a constancy in our consultancy.” Keeping SC’s networked together is the key to success of the profession and follow through ensures constant feedback that can help to fulfill the overall objectives of the simulation profession.
